Jurisdiction – Public Officers and Public Employees


The Ethics in Government Law applies to the more than 140,000 public officers and public employees in the State of Nevada who are appointed or elected to a position in, or are employed by, the State, a county, a city, improvement district, school board or other political subdivision.  The Commission on Ethics DOES NOT have jurisdiction over private attorneys, judges, private employers/employees or members of advisory bodies.
