In 1976, Nevada's
Ethics in Government Law was ruled unconstitutional in its entirety by the
Nevada Supreme Court,
and
the law was subsequently repealed by the Nevada Legislature.

These opinions were issued under the 1975 statute.
By legislative amendments to NRS Chapter 281 effective 10-01-91, the Opinions of the Ethics Commission became binding and subject to judicial review. Prior to 10-01-91, Opinions of the Ethics Commission were advisory only.
