NOTICE REGARDING NRS 281.210

NRS 281.210, Nevada's nepotism law, is a statute subject to criminal prosecution and criminal penalty.  NRS 281.210 is also not a statute within Nevada's Ethics in Government Law (NRS 281.411 through NRS 281.581).  At its December 12, 2005 meeting, the Nevada Commission on Ethics determined that due to these reasons and others, the Commission has no statutory jurisdiction to opine upon the provisions of NRS 281.210.  Therefore, the Commission no longer accepts requests for opinion regarding this statute, and no further opinions will be issued by the Nevada Commission on Ethics regarding NRS 281.210.  Questions regarding this statute should be directed to the Office of the Attorney General or your local district attorney's office.
